"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."
lol that scene in the radio station was hilarious!
"They're going to have to bring in something like a tank to-".. spots a tank.. - epic!
another of that revenge stuff.. I've read something interesting somewhere in the internet regarding this : "You must learn to forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace".
With however many anime series I've seen thus far, I feel like they're going to do a plot twist and Roy is Envy's transformation b/c Roy is mainly right handed but when he extended his arm at Riza, it was the left arm, yeah? :}

Amazing episode. Absolutely fantastic. This may have had something to do with it being Mustang-centric
I LOVE how Mustang's faction manipulated the events in their favour. I thought they'd kidnapped the wife for leverage when Wrath came back, but obviously this was the plan, since Mustang said "he'd been counting on it" when Central came to shoot the wife. Brilliant and satisfying to watch carried out.
And then there was Mustang incinerating every enemy. When he doesn't care about morals or collateral damage, he's definitely one of the strongest alchemists out there - the strongest one I can think of that doesn't involve philosopher's stones. Imagine what he could do with one. I love how he always smokes his enemies in the middle of their speeches, and the menace in his stalking his prey
Holy shit man Mustang looked so fucking mortified when finding out about Who killed Hughes, and envy being damn proud of it and showing it in his face. And man when he was charring her, he was mad as ALL hell. Epicness, but that's to be expected. It's fucking Fullmetal Alchemist!

Food for thought: won't vengeance give you peace you deserve? Just throwing it out there

The episode was pretty good.
Envy sucks for transforming into Gracia and Hughes and then Hawkeye OMG
:[
DAMN is Mustang pissed the whole episode!
Bones did a great job once again animating the episode..
Once again, we are stuck in a cliffhanger.. Can't wait for the outcome...
Mustang, the official Homunculus killer. I'm glad this is not the type of anime where supporting characters get useless in the end, like that another famous one. Epic episode 10/10
Even an episode waiting occurs, the narrative comes to light only much revenge that Mustang in Serbia for Homunculus, a little sorry for Envy that this series is not as obnoxious as in the first season, the ending is a bit ambiguous who is who?
I liked how they used the country's patriotism and support for the Fuhrer President to their full advantage despite the fact that Bradley's actually one of them. It was so satisfying to see the upper echelon's reputation crumble as time goes by. Brosh finding out that Maria is alive is sweet too.
Mustang burnt all those supposedly unbeatable zombies into ashes in mere seconds without the slightest hint of mercy before facing off against Envy who came in crashing from the ceiling.
He tried to psychologically torture Mustang by posing as Maes but his tricks only compounded his anger even further. He keeps going for the eyes before he incinerates his whole body, making the monster scream in terror and actually making me a bit afraid of the Flame Alchemist. He's not just the guy who killed Hughes, it's also the guy who killed a little girl to start one of the country's most infamous events in history too so I guess he deserves all of it.
It looks like Envy stole Hawkeye's form and tricked Roy buy it was kind of a relief that he didn't let his rage get to him and burn Rize to a crisp because there was a really high possibility that she really is the lieutenant.
THIS EPISODE WAS INSANELY GOOD OH MY GOD!!!!! ROY MUSTANG!!!!!!!
ok ok so the beginning with the radio broadcast, genius. and brosh hearing ross's voice was sweet too
theN ROY MUSTANG COMES AND STEALS THE SHOW OH MY GOSH HE WAS INTENSE AS HECK i hope he doesn't lose all his humanity fighting envy, he was really getting into it lol
had to rewatch this episode (and planning on rewatching the next too ofc) because it is AMAZING, definitely a highlight of the whole series.
roy mustang is such a brilliant character, he has been a standout throughout the show. he is funny and clever and intuitive and warm and quick and always shows up at the right moment.
we always knew he was insanely powerful (from his reputation and actions at ishbal) but now we finally get to see him in action ourselves, and see how far he will go for the ones close to him. it was incredible, he can generate so much firepower with such accuracy, i loved the shot of his fires circling around everyone to burn the humanoids.
and this is where mustang's animation becomes scarily detailed and terrifying in his eyes, we have never seen him like this before, burning up inside and out. but you know envy has it coming for him so it was also so satisfying to see him finally pay for killing hughes
such a dramatic and intense episode. just perfect in its entirety.
Golly, this is definitely an emotionally charged episode.
On the positive side of things it was heartwarming to see Denny Brosh with tears of joy in his eyes when he heard Maria Ross' voice on the radio. &++ I hope the next time Roy sees Riza cry is on their wedding day!~
Finally, Roy finds who killed his best friend. It's been awhile since he went all out and it's apropos for something like this. He's like a shark that smells blood. Hell, he wants Envy's blood. All that burning and fire is really satisfying.
Alrighty, I've read the manga and watched this anime so many times so I already know how it goes, but the first time I saw Riza pointing her gun at Roy that was definitely a "Holy shit on a shit sandwich" moment!
My thoughts were like, there are two possibilities: it's Envy, which seems like the more likely one. The second possibility is that it is in fact Riza, but Roy has failed some test. It could be because he's actually Envy or something else is going on.
Oh and one last thing, I really the script/interaction between Roy and Envy this episode (both the English dub and Japanese). It's just great and the way both the English and Japanese voice actors deliver it is commendable!
I loved the radio part of this episode. It's always nice to see that a character like Colonel Mustang is actually competent as an officer and can plan a coup well enough that it doesn't even look like a coup for the majority of the population. Amazing job here!!!
Then we return to our main characters, only to find out Ed's moral compunctions apparently paralyze him to the point that he thinks it is immoral to destroy zombie soldiers that are trying to kill you. Really, I don't think anyone is that blandly nice. Another reminder of what this series could have been if it hadn't been shounen.
Mustang's revenge mini-arc seems like it could have been excellent with a little more build-up, but it falls a bit flat here in my opinion. Not terrible, but his crazed expressions just don't match the happy-go-lucky or deadly serious Mustang we've met so far.
Every day you can read a book or watch some anime is a good day!
Travis Willingham absolutely killed it as Roy Mustang in this episode. Bones as well with their animation of the Mustang-Envy confrontation, from the scenes where Envy turns to Hughes' wife Gracia to tease Mustang about Hughes' death, only for Mustang to absolutely obliterate Envy constantly beyond humanity with his flames. Everything was expressed and done really well, I could feel the hatred just burning through my TV seeing it.
Great cliffhanger too with Riza pointing the gun at Roy as well.
It was a good rage moment. Mustang's revenge mini-arc would be excellent if the anime would not have rushed Hughes screentime at the beginning. Pretty good arc anyway.
